Daily Deal—Two post-election recommendations: Chick-fil-A drive-through voting machines 2024 and time to move on and think ahead like Seth MacFarlane is doing with his business called TV vs. TikTok.
Now this is an attention-getter: “Smokey and the Bandit” is being remade for television by MacFarlane’s Fuzzy Door studio and David Gordon Green, who directed “Halloween.”
Not for boomers like me who watched the original motion picture 10 times the first week of release. Who could replace Big Enos?
MacFarlane, brightest guy in TV, watched hours of TikTok and said this is not brainless shameless programming. He surmised the viewer wants swagger, sass, and fun. Bandit. Figure out what customer block is not buying and why.
Side Deal—"Planes, Trains & Automobiles" gets Paramount Pictures remake with Will Smith and Kevin Hart. Stop it.

IPO Glow—Mark my word, the release of Airbnb’s IPO prospectus will be Thursday, no later than Friday. Ahead of blockbuster listing that will raise around $3B at a $30B valuation. I’m not in.
Entries—Today, the three-wheeled electric car Solo will be featured at West Field retail location in La Jolla CA. Retails $18,500. Cute and small in cars sells as well as poodles at PetSmart—doesn’t exist. Mercedes killed its smart car last year.
Exits—San Diego hoteliers are taking the city of San Diego to court over a recently approved ordinance mandating that when they rehire workers laid off due to the pandemic they must give preference to what were their most senior employees. More of that to come this way.
